High on the eastern Ahe corridor, Tuolehaite opens to pasture, river valley, and dark skies—glamping and homestays turn a drive into a stay.

Green grass and herds in summer; layered color in autumn; Milky Way and star trails on clear nights—popular for photo and camping. Build 2–3 day slow Ahe trips with Tongba and Jiangqing Lake.

High elevation and big day-night swings—warm and windproof layers. Some roads are seasonal only; winter needs serious 4WD. Use formal camps and fire rules for overnights.
