The Kran flows south through Altay; riverside paths, bridges, and viewing platforms stitch together the city's core life axis. Here the classic layout appears—mountain silhouettes on one side, daily life and leisure on the other.
Walk the south or north bank from Birch Forest Park toward the cultural street; at dawn and dusk, water mirrors the peaks—ideal for jogging, cycling, and street photos. Some points frame ski-resort lifts and the city skyline.
Spring and summer bring greener banks and fuller flow; winter freezes the river for clean snow scenes. Free throughout; wear comfortable shoes; some sections are lit at night—stay alert late. Pair with Jiangjunshan, 500-Li Street, or the museum same day.
